To help improve air quality an ULTRA LOW EMISSION ZONE (ULEZ) will be in place in central London from 8 April 2019.
HOW WILL IT AFFECT YOU?
Initially covering the existing Congestion charge area but extending in October 2021, the London Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) means that most vehicles including cars and vans will need to meet new, tighter exhaust emission standards or be liable for a daily charge to drive within the ULEZ area. This is in addition to the London Congestion Charge, and operates 24/7
WHAT WILL IT COST YOU?
The charge will be £12.50 for most types of vehicle, including cars, motor cycles and vans (up to & including 3.5 tonnes). £100 for heavier vehicles, including lorries ( over 3.5 tonnes ) and buses/coaches ( over 5 tonnes).
WHO WILL HAVE TO PAY THE CHARGE?
Generally drivers of diesel vehicles registered before 2015 will pay the charge as well as drivers of petrol cars registered before 2006.
