What is the Government Plug in Grant?
Government Grants:
There are limited Grants available off the price of a brand new qualifying plug in Car , mostly for accessible vehicles and conversions. There are still Grants available for Plug In Vans ( fully electric ) which are deducted at the dealership at the time of purchase, or leasing so no messing around for you finding out how to claim it.

Is there a Grant to install a home charging point?
No. Unfortunately, there are no longer grants available to install charging units at home, but they are still available for landlords and qualifying businesses through the workplace charging schemes. There are certain criteria that must be met and you must use an approved OLEV installer.
London Congestion Charge and ULEZ
On the road, drivers of pure electric cars and vans are exempt from paying the London Congestion Charge (you have to register). .. find out more here https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/congestion-charge/discounts-and-exemptions and pure Electric Vehicles are automatically exempt from the expanding ULEZ which was introduced in April 2019.
We are seeing many major towns and cities in the UK introducing low emission zones with charges for polluting vehicles.
